BlizzCon 2014 Online Merchandise sale begins

BlizzCon's online merchandise sale is now open for business and selling a variety of cool new products. If you have purchased tickets for this year's BlizzCon, or a Virtual Ticket for the show, you may now check out and purchase several of the items that will be available at the convention this year through Blizzard's Gear Shop. The sale has a ton of new items from all of Blizzard's titles -- it's not everything we'll be seeing at BlizzCon, but there's still a wide selection of items to choose from, both brand-new items, and familiar favorites from BlizzCons past as well.

This year's items include several new t-shirts from Blizzard's titles, some new hats, and a special World of Warcraft 10 year anniversary messenger bag, which you can see in the image above. The new faerie dragon plush has also been made available, as well as two new posters -- one featuring art from Heroes of the Storm, the other a stunning image of Grommash Hellscream from the recently released animated series Lords of War.

To check out the items and order, you must have either purchased a Virtual Ticket for BlizzCon 2014, or tickets for the event in Anaheim. If you have purchased a Virtual Ticket, your account should already be flagged for the sale. If you have purchased physical tickets, you'll need to use the redemption code included in your ticket email in order to flag your account. Supplies are limited, so take a look at what's available and place your orders quickly.

Blizzard store re-opens

Blizzard Gear Store
After a couple of months on hiatus, the Blizzard online store has re-opened its doors as Blizzard Gear. Not to be confused with the digital-only Battle.net Shop, the Blizzard Gear store is where you'll find the usual assortment of shirts, posters, plushies, and other Blizzard memorabilia. There's also a new section titled Caverns of Time which sells leftover items from past BlizzCons. Perhaps most relevant to WoW players is the ability to get your hands on a physical authenticator once again, which is available in a few different flavors. According to their shipping page, they will ship most of their products to a number of countries outside of the United States.

You can visit the Blizzard Gear store here.

BlizzCon store updated with new merchandise

blizzcon banner
For all you BlizzCon attendees and Virtual Ticket holders who may have been dallying over whether or not to buy any con merch, there are now a load of new items to tempt your wallet, and a few popular existing items have been restocked. The new options include several Diablo-themed skateboard decks, a truly precious Zergling T-shirt, and the Blizzard 2013 Key Art T-shirt.

The Key Art is particularly interesting, for a few reasons. First of all, it's been released prior to the convention itself. In previous years the Key Art has been withheld because it was totally spoiler-riffic -- think BlizzCon 2011, where it featured a panda, and thus wasn't released until after the announcement of Mists of Pandaria. This year's art, however, features front-and-center one very angry-looking Garrosh Hellscream (or what we assume is Garrosh Hellscream). Considering the Diablo and Starcraft art portions both reference known upcoming releases: Diablo: Reaper of Souls, and Starcraft II: Legacy of the Void, I think it's safe to say that the Key Art confirms that WoW's next chapter will feature as BlizzCon's main attraction. But beyond that, we don't really know. It honestly raises more questions than it answers, and makes me even more intrigued to find out what Blizzard has next in store for World of Warcraft.

BlizzCon preview sale opens at 10 a.m. Friday for virtual ticket holders

BlizzCon's merchandise preview sale has been going on for BlizzCon ticket holders for the past week, with lots of fun items. Mysteriously, the official BlizzCon T-shirts have absent artwork, signaling big announcements at the main keynote for the event. Virtual ticket holders will be granted access to the BlizzCon merchandise preview sale Friday, Sept. 23, at 10 a.m. Pacific. All you have to do is log into the Battle.net account that you purchased your virtual ticket under, hit the Blizzard store, and you have early access to all of the BlizzCon official merchandise for the 2011 convention.

Probably the biggest surprise is the lack of T-shirt artwork for the official BlizzCon T-shirt, signaling a big, secret announcement that is important enough to revolve the entire convention around. New WoW expansion? Most likely. Cool new artwork to add to a shirt? That's a pretty big deal. Virtual ticket holders will want to get in on the sale quickly, as many items sell out quickly. The store will see you virtual ticket holders tomorrow.

Check out our gallery of some of the items available this year at the preview sale.

BlizzCon 48-hour sale access issues resolved

Blizzard has announced that access issues with the Blizzard store's 48-hour BlizzCon presale should be resolved now. This means that even if your BlizzCon ticket was purchased by someone else, you can still access the sale as long as your Battle.net account name was added to your ticket. If it wasn't, you're still out of luck, and you'll need to talk to your ticket buyer if you want to get a hold of some of this year's exclusive swag.

Check out our gallery of this year's merchandise below, and don't forget that you only have until Wednesday, Oct. 12 at 12:01 a.m. Pacific time to take advantage of the sale.

BlizzCon 48-hour presale delayed due to site issues

Blizzard is offering those who bought BlizzCon 2010 tickets, even DirecTV virtual tickets, the opportunity to buy exclusive BlizzCon merchandise online for 48 hours this weekend -- or at least they were supposed to, hours ago. Right now, the store is completely busted and no one is able to access the exclusive items. Blizzard is on the case, according to a forum post, but there's no ETA on when people will actually be able to make purchases.

UPDATE: Blizzard has updated the original post saying that the sale will begin Sunday, Oct. 10 at 10 a.m. PST.
