The Guild ends season 6 with a sweet farewell

If you haven't been keeping up with season 6 of The Guild, you've been missing out. Episode 12 marks the end of the latest season, which followed the exploits of Codex as she traversed the tricky real-life mechanics of working for the company that designed her beloved game. Of course the rest of the Knights of Good featured throughout the season as well, invading the game's HQ and creating even more problems for Codex to solve.

Unlike previous season finales, this one seems to have a note of finality to it. No cliffhangers for the next season, just a fond and heartfelt farewell from Codex, who seems to have finally figured out her life. Is this the end of The Guild? There's been no final word on that as of yet. But the series, launched all the way back in 2007, has become a beloved fixture in and of itself over the years. If this is indeed the end, it will be missed.

Season 6 of The Guild has been running on Geek and Sundry, Felicia Day's premium YouTube channel that hosts a variety of geek-themed programming. You can catch up on all of the episodes from this season on Geek and Sundry's official playlist for season six.

Season 6 of The Guild premieres today

Felicia Day and gang are back for Season 6 of The Guild. We'll get to see what happens now that [spoiler] is [spoiler], and how [spoiler] deals with [spoiler]. I'm sure we'll see the usual number of surprises and cameos this season as well.

If you missed last season, Hank Green -- half of the Vlog Brothers -- recapped it in less than 5 minutes. That should bring you up to speed until you can catch up on the episodes. By the way, Netflix has all five seasons, should you want to view them on your television. You can also watch last season on Hulu, iTunes, Xbox live, Bing, and Geek & Sundry.

So take a break from Mists, if you can, and enjoy the first episode. Actually, it might be a good thing to watch while doing pet battles. Hmmm ...

The Guild returns with season 6 on October 2

The Guild set to return with season 6 on Oct 2
The Guild, the popular webseries created by Felicia Day is making a return with season 6 on October 2! Last season, the show followed the Knights of Good to the gaming convention MEGAGAME-O-RAMACON. In addition to the regular cast, season 5 was littered with cameos of recognizable faces from all over the science fiction and comics community. The end of the season left off with a cliffhanger as Codex managed to save the guild's beloved game from being sold off -- but she paid a price for it, and the details were left an intriguing mystery.

Season 6 of The Guild has a brand-new home on Geek and Sundry, Felicia Day's premium YouTube channel that hosts a variety of geek-themed programming. While checking out the new season is of course highly recommended, you may want to take a look at Geek and Sundry's other programs as well -- I've become shamelessly addicted to Written by a Kid myself.

If you're looking to catch up on the last season of The Guild, you can catch it on Geek and Sundry, MSN Video, Xbox Live, iTunes, Hulu, or Netflix.

Mike Morhaime confirms BlizzCon is on for 2013

President and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment Mike Morhaime has confirmed the news everyone wanted to hear: There will definitely be a BlizzCon in 2013. Morhaime pointed out this year is a big year for Blizzard releases, so resources had to be focused on games rather than conventions. However, next year will see a return of BlizzCon and it should be back with a vengeance, according to Morhaime.

Morhaime appeared on a recent episode of TableTop, Wil Wheaton's board game celebrity poker-style show that's featured on the Geek and Sundry YouTube channel created by Felicia Day. After playing a rousing game of Elder Sign, Morhaime did a quick interview about his history with Blizzard, Warcraft's development, gaming, and heavy metal, as well as the BlizzCon mention.

When you're done watching the interview, pop in and take a look at the full episode of TableTop with Mike Morhaime, Felicia Day, and Bill Prady, co-creator and executive producer for The Big Bang Theory. Sure, it's not Warcraft, but it's a rollicking good time.

The Guild season 5, episode 8 overrun with geeky cameos

<a data-cke-saved-href='http://www.bing.com/videos/watch/video/season-5-episode-8-social-traumas/y02ha7t9?src=v5:embed::' href='http://www.bing.com/videos/watch/video/season-5-episode-8-social-traumas/y02ha7t9?src=v5:embed::' target='_new' title='Season 5 - Episode 8 - Social Traumas'>Video: Season 5 - Episode 8 - Social Traumas</a>
While perhaps not technically about World of Warcraft, web series The Guild certainly wears its influences on its sleeve, and if its fifth season is any indication, it's certainly become quite the phenomenon with the historically fickle geek crowd.

This week's episode, "Social Traumas," is an event in and of itself, with cameos from a huge number of fan-favorite geek actors and personalities, from a pair of Dolls to a demigod. Check out the episode above, and see how many nerd points you get for recognizing the cameos (which we've conveniently listed for you after the break).

The Guild Season 5, Episode 6: Revolving Doors

<a data-cke-saved-href='http://www.bing.com/videos/watch/video/season-5-episode-6-revolving-doors/y079whq8?src=v5:embed::' href='http://www.bing.com/videos/watch/video/season-5-episode-6-revolving-doors/y079whq8?src=v5:embed::' target='_new' title='Season 5 - Episode 6 - Revolving Doors'>Video: Season 5 - Episode 6 - Revolving Doors</a>
The struggles of everyguild The Knights of Good continues as Codex tries to solve the game's problems, Clara wedges her way in with the steampunk crowd, and Tinkerballa dons a weird costume replica of herself. Vork and Bladezz continue their con pirate antics with a very special guest star, as their strategy continues to bring in business and Vork rebuffs celebrities.

This episode felt much more transitory than the rest, bridging the two parts of the season together, as most of the first-half conflicts have been solved for Codex, and new revelations and priorities have gripped the guild at the gaming convention. Zaboo's seat saving business is eventually going to deal with some sort of consequence, which will be pretty fun to watch as his 48-hour no-sleep binge comes to a grinding, probably catastrophic halt. Oh, how we love watching the guild in conflict.

The Guild Season 5, Episode 5: Focus problems

Episode 5 of season 5 of The Guild has our favorite guildies stuck in their hotel room doing their best to raid while the pressures of the gaming convention force everyone to abandon the game to be social. Felicia Day's character Codex makes some big strides this episode with maybe-real-probably-not love interest Zaboo, new plot points are set up for Tinkerbella at a superhero party, and Vork (Jeff Lewis) continues to be the funniest guy on the internet.

The Guild continues to shine this season after hitting a great stride last season that continues on into season 5. Zaboo's Master Chief bodyguards are fun, and the Cheesy Pirate Internet Kid videos (especially the one with FemShep) continue to make the show hilarious. Clara's weird new obsession with steampunk also makes an appearance. Do you love The Guild? We love The Guild.

The Guild airs every Tuesday on Xbox Live and Thursdays on MSN and Bing videos.

The Guild Season 5, Episode 4: Ends and Begins

If you're familiar with the many flavors of social awkwardness that convention season brings to the fore (and with BlizzCon around the corner, you may be about to experience some of it) then the fourth episode of Season 5 of The Guild is a love letter to you. It has special guest appearances by Brent Spiner and Grant Imahara, plus you'll get to watch people doing all the astonishingly painfully awkward things people do at conventions, like dress up like a pirate and mouth off, try to start a relationship, or wear skimpy Princess Leia outfits.

Seriously, why are you still here? I did tell you Brent Spiner was in this, didn't I?

The Guild, Season 5, Episode 02: Crash Pad is a convention nightmare

<a data-cke-saved-href='http://www.bing.com/videos/browse?mkt=en-us&vid=y0gszpqp&from={from}' href='http://www.bing.com/videos/browse?mkt=en-us&vid=y0gszpqp&from={from}' target='_new' title='Season 5 - Episode 2 - Crash Pad' >Video: Season 5 - Episode 2 - Crash Pad</a>
Episode 2 of the fifth season of The Guild, Felicia Day's webseries about an unlikely bunch of MMO gamers and their wacky hijinks in and out of game, released this week.

The Knights of Good have finally made it to the gaming convention but, as usual, things don't go very well for them. Everyone has to share the same room at the hotel (been there), with Zaboo sleeping under a coffee table (done that). Bladezz's shower spying and Vork's (amazing as usual) food theft are high moments. I am excited for more convention antics in the coming weeks.

The Guild has been hitting its stride in the past few seasons, and it remains a quality watch. Check out this week's episode, with new episodes hitting Xbox Live on Tuesdays and MSN video on Thursdays.

The Guild Season 5 now available for everyone

While Season 5 of The Guild was released for Zune and the Xbox 360 earlier this week, it hasn't been easily available on the web for everyone. Well, that's changed today. For your viewing pleasure, the online smash hit The Guild season 5 has officially hit the 'net!

Episode 1, Road Trip, has our online heroes traveling to the Megagame-o-Ramacon, the aptly named convention of all things gaming. The Knights of Good will have their work cut out for them, as the fruits of road trips -- and the actual destination -- never come easily.

Felicia Day, the show's creator, and the rest of The Guild were at this year's San Diego Comic-Con, where fans saw a preview of this episode.

If you've missed a handful of episodes, catch up over on MSN Video or watch them all on Hulu. You can also catch up over on the Xbox Live Zune marketplace, too.

Season 5 of the series created by Felicia Day is coming to Xbox Live on the Zune video Marketplace and to MSN Video on Tuesday, July 26. Picking up where season 4 left off, the newest season of the show follows the Knights of Good to the gaming convention MEGAGAME-O-RAMACON. The Guild will also appear for the fourth consecutive year at the San Diego Comic-Con with daily signings at booth 4201 and a panel at 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 23, in the Hilton Bayfront Indigo Ballroom. A preview of season 5 will be shown along with a Q&A, so if you're headed to Comic-Con, be sure to check it out.

The Guild picked up for season 5

The Guild just keeps going -- all the way to season 5, according to a post on Facebook by the award-winning web series' creator Felicia Day, who posted last week to let the general public know that The Guild is a go for next season. As in seasons past, new episodes will run on Xbox Live, MSN Video, and the Zune Marketplace.

Season 4 of The Guild focused on several different themes: Codex's ill-fated attempts at romance with Axis of Anarchy leader Fawkes, her attempts to repair her failing computer, and the attempts of the Knights of Good as a whole to pull together enough gold to fund a much-coveted guild hall purchase. Everything ended on a mostly positive note, and it looks like season 5 will surround the Knights of Good as they travel to every gamer's paradise: a convention.

While there's no release date set as of yet for season 5, you can always pick up the DVDs, or simply watch the prior seasons online courtesy of MSN Video.

The Guild ends the year with DVD release and new comic

The Guild, the award-winning web series by Felicia Day, has a couple of new offerings for this holiday season. Season 4 of the popular web series is now available on DVD through Amazon.com as well as iTunes. The DVD version of the release is packed with extras, including the Game On music video, recaps of earlier seasons, featurettes involving Cheesybeards and Zaboo's mom as well, as audio commentary with the cast and gag reels.

The iTunes release is available in both standard and HD versions. An iTunes exclusive bonus feature, The Making of the Team Cawkes Painting, is included when you purchase the entire season. The Season 4 DVD is $10.99 on Amazon; the iTunes version is only $9.99 for HD, or $5.99 for standard edition.

And if you happen to be looking for something to read rather than something to watch, The Guild has also released a new one-shot comic titled Vork. Written by Day and actor Jeff Lewis, who plays Vork in the series, this comic centers around Vork and his role within both the game world and real life. As with all Guild comics, the story takes place before the events in Season 1 of The Guild. The comic's only $3.50 from Dark Horse, and you can choose one of two variant covers: Darick Robinson's gladiatorial version of Vork, or the more simplistic, real-life Vork styling of Gilbert Hernandez.

For more on The Guild, you can check out the entire series on MSN.

The Guild Season 4 finale

<a href="http://video.msn.com/?mkt=en-us&amp;from=sp&amp;fg=shareEmbed&amp;vid=e4d40299-248c-4a26-815b-7bbc06237e3d" target="_new" title="Season 4 - Episode 12 - Guild Hall">Video: Season 4 - Episode 12 - Guild Hall</a>

Season 4 of Felicia Day's The Guild comes to an end with the 12th episode in the season, "Guild Hall." Most of the episode takes place within the game world, showing off Vork's design for the Knights of Good's guild hall, the culmination of that whole Zaboo's mom debacle, and lots of teases for the next season.

This season was pretty spot-on and I really enjoyed every episode. I think the entire crew has hit this great stride, especially after last season's awesome Vork-in-a-van episodes, which were highlights for me. Everything was top-notch, and The Guild is only getting better and better as the seasons progress. Good on you, Guildies -- and we're anxiously awaiting the next season!

Codex gets a little help from her friends to fill up Cheesybeards this week on The Guild, Felicia Day's awesome web series that you've all been keeping up with, I'm sure. I've been loving this season, especially the whole Vork/Zaboo's mom relationship, which takes a fun turn in this episode. Wil Wheaton, as usual, still kills me every time he shows up. Season 4 has been ramping up really well, and I'm sad that there are just two episodes remaining.

Looking for more on The Guild? We've previously interviewed Felicia Day at BlizzCon 2009, and Michele Boyd gave us an interview for 15 Minutes of Fame. And of course, the cast of The Guild was also kind enough to stop by our BlizzCon reader meetup last year and say hello to everyone.
