The Mists of Pandaria press event promises to bring us new and exciting information about Mists of Pandaria, but it's dawned on me that different types of players are looking for different types of news. Existing subscribers and max-level players are looking for new endgame content, to be sure, but also for new minigames and advancement to keep things fresh after the initial run-throughs.

Plenty of returning players are taking advantage of the new Scroll of Resurrection to see the end game of Cataclysm before the new expansion launches and are looking to Mists of Pandaria as a spiritual return to the Wrath of the Lich King boom. What are these players looking for that will keep them around?

New players, believe it or not, will be picking up Mists of Pandaria and will most likely be looking for compelling experiences rather than something that's been built on for years. The pandaren story may well be enough to bring new people into the game, a happy metaphor for the pandaren themselves.
