World of Warcraft and Battle Chest on sale for Black Friday

Yes indeed, this Friday is none other than Black Friday, which means the deals will be aplenty, the crowds will be horrendous, and the holiday money drain will begin (of course, you could go with Buy Nothing Day, but that seems a little too grinchy to me -- why not go ahead and buy while the buying's good?). Fortunately, there are a few WoW deals floating around out there, in case you need to pick up a copy of the game for a loved one (or that Recruit-a-friend account you've been planning to make).

The regular WoW vanilla game (useful for leveling to 60, but if you want to go past that, you'll have to buy the expansions) is on sale in a few places for super cheap -- the Ladies of Leet saw it at Best Buy for just five bucks, and Gamestop's matching that price. Gamestop also will have the Battle Chest (with WoW and BC and a few other goodies) for $19.99, and Newegg has the same price if you don't want to fight the crowds. Unfortunately, there's no sign of Wrath on sale -- you'll still have to pony up the $40 if that's the one you want. But stay tuned in the comments -- if readers can find better prices on this stuff, we're sure you'll see them below. Good luck out there, happy deal finding.

More Wrath deals around the world

We've rounded up a few more Wrath of the Lich King deals if you haven't pulled the trigger on a preorder yet.
  • Newegg has the game available for the low price of $36.99 with free shipping, which is a couple bucks cheaper than Amazon. (thanks, Lîlîth of Crushridge!)
  • Reader Tyler G tell us that Gametraders, a chain in Australia, will be selling the game with a 60 day timecard and poster for AU$79.95. Usually the game is AU$60 and the timecard is AU$40, so it's a deal.
  • Commenter Rey tells us that Canada's Futureshop is offering 40% off if you trade-in two games. We don't see that on their site (there is a $100 costume contest though and a free hat!), but we'll take his word for it. A free hat!
A few more after the break.

Burning Crusade $37 shipped at Newegg

If you haven't picked up the Burning Crusade yet, congratulations: you've saved yourself 3 bucks. Techbargains points out that Newegg is now selling the expansion for $36.90 with free 3-day shipping, which is the cheapest we've seen it yet.

And if you don't have the new expansion yet, it's pretty clear by now that it's worth it at under $40. Originally, I was thinking that if you haven't got a 60 yet, it might not be necessary, but considering all the great new content that showed up in the starting areas, anyone interested in rolling a new character would definitely get their money's worth.

Of course, if you're willing to hunt a little bit, there are even better deals to find. The Collector's Edition, sold out in most places, is still floating around on eBay, some for even cheaper than this Newegg deal. Of course, that brings all the risks associated with normal eBay deals, but no matter how you find it, there's almost no reason not to pick up the expansion and take on the Burning Crusade.
