Around Azeroth: Call the exterminator

"This is one way to break in a boosted level 90 tank in Timeless gear," writes submitter Gimmlette. "Spectacular Death on Llane (US-A) recently held a 'meta night' where we ran a variety of Mists of Pandaria five-mans to work on the achievements toward Glory of the Pandaria Hero. One of this group's random dungeons was Stormstout Brewery. After a quick How Did He Get Up There, we went on to Hopocalypse Now.

Our tank, Holygoat, had been boosted earlier in the day and he wasn't too confident of his mob-holding abilities. 'Trust us,' we said. 'We know what we're doing. You just stand there and intercept the virmen 'til we tell you to let go.' He audibly gulped in voice chat. Duellona feigned death to make sure no virmen came by her. Do we have enough for the achievement? The healer, Corien, was counting but decided next to Goat wasn't a great place to stand and beat a hasty retreat. That's a lot of virmen. For the record, we got the achievement and Holygoat lived through the experience. However, he doesn't really like Stormstout after this."

Around Azeroth: Junior varsity

For a bunch of clumsy, alcoholic bears, the pandaren at the Tian Monastery in the Jade Forest are surprisingly graceful. Wodehermit, Nounours, Braelei and Wirrieation of Llane (US-A) tried to practice their moves with Instructor Xann and his pupils in the Monastery Training Arena, but ended up hopelessly out of sync with the rest of their classmates. It's all right, guys. Someone has to be picked last for the cheerleading squad.

Around Azeroth: Please allow me to introduce myself

"Highlord Fordring thought it would be an awesome idea to greet prospective Crusader recruits before they kneeled and swore him allegiance until death (or resurrection)," writes today's submitter. "Sadly, recruitment to the Argent Crusade has dropped to 1% in the second quarter with their new greeter, Vassannah of the Eternal Exiles on Saurfang (EU-A). Someone is about to get fired." Wait, there are people out there who don't want to pledge eternal loyalty to a female draenei in a bikini? I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

Around Azeroth: The ring thing

Is the Kremlin monitoring this column? Let's find out! Submitter Xotl of Bladefist (EU-A) recently discovered that he could use his Wild Mushroom spell to mock the ring malfunction at the opening ceremony of last month's Sochi Olympics. Sure, Russia itself referenced their gaffe in the closing ceremony, but if Xotl dies suddenly in the next month, I suggest you test him for polonium-210 poisoning. Now to sit back and wait for the legion of suspicious Putin defenders to show up ...

Around Azeroth: Improper gun safety

Submitter Ravacaryn of LK Mafia on Zul'jin (US-A) is normally pretty safety-conscious, at least by hunter standards (meaning that she usually doesn't pick her teeth with a notched arrow.) But when she finally got her legendary cloak, she let caution fall by the wayside for just a moment. What could be the harm in shooting her gun off a little bit in celebration? A gun that has Lord Blastington's Scope of Doom attached to it? Scope of Doom is probably just a pretty name cooked up by a marketing department, and does not at all portend a horrible fiery explosive death for anyone foolish enough to fire it at their own feet.

Around Azeroth: From nowhere to infinity

Imagine that you're a game designer who wants to put in a little visual reward for your loyal players. So you create a gorgeous series of glass floors in an instance, secure in the knowledge that even though most players will just breeze through your content, there will always be a few who take the time to appreciate the effort. And then some utter bastard decides that your never-ending glass floors are a wonderful place to practice jumping up and down on their mammoth mount. Suddenly you find yourself wondering if the Minecraft guys are hiring, since your work will just end up being destroyed by malicious gamers anyway. (Thanks to submitter Radaíocht of Hostile Insurrection on Zul'jin (US-H) for the screenshot.)

Around Azeroth: Breaking the fourth wall

"There are a lot of things in this game we wish Blizzard would make permanent," writes today's submitter. "One of those is the jet pack from the goblin on the boat of the gunship battle in the Icecrown Citadel raid. Spectacular Death on Llane (US-A) would really love to get their collective hands on jet packs. Oh, the fun we could have! Case in point. Hercules decided to fly off the Alliance ship toward the Citadel using his jet pack once the battle was over and, well, discovered a huge flaw in its construction. We suppose when you hire the previously dead to design and build your ultimate house of evil, what else can you expect? What little brain power left after reanimation is no match for the frozen north -- or goblin jet packs. Maybe Arthas could get his money back or something."

Around Azeroth: Why does everything I love explode?

Goblins might know a lot about engineering and economics, but they could use a little education in basic geology. Rule number one: islands tend to be a pretty unstable place to make your home. After the destruction of Kezan and then the Lost Isles to a dragon-induced volcano and a volcano god-induced volcano respectively, submitter Dorestop of Deathtacular on Llane (US-H) is sick and tired of hunting for new apartments and is ready to settle down in a seismically stable region.

Around Azeroth: The siege is broken

"The Siege of Orgrimmar is finally over," writes submitter Karhog of Korkron Vanguard on Argent Dawn (EU-H). "The guilds had a great time, even the Garrosh loyalists. However, in the end of all things, even the conquered had things to finish before their time came. So Karhog dragged his dead general's body out of the now retaken city in an attempt to give her a proper burial before the rebels finally dragged him back into Orgrimmar, where he and the rest of Garrosh's loyalists will await their fate. Korkron Vanguard ... is no more." Well, at least until the next expansion!

Around Azeroth: Hemet Nesingwary must be destroyed as soon as possible

The man has become the monster! Submitter Billdoor (excellent Pratchett reference, by the way) of The Penguin Mafia on Kalecgos (US-H) was doing his usual dailies in Mount Hyjal when he noticed that the ever-more-powerful hunter had decided to accompany him on a flying mammoth. Seriously, the man has killed probably millions of animals by now, levels up in each expansion, and now he can fly? I say we pit him against the greatest hunting challenge possible: SCP-682. No matter who comes out on top, the world wins.

Around Azeroth: Rise and live again!

"I accidentally clicked a Bruiser at K3 instead of a mailbox," writes submitter Jrhys of Alexstrasza (US-A). "She was immediately taken out after a short fight. It's an honest mistake -- both mailboxes and gnomes are short with weird looking gadgets. When she followed the ethereal voice telling her to come to the light, she had this weird out of body experience."

Around Azeroth: Bacon, we sing your praises

"In Spectacular Death on Llane (US-A), all our ranks have a bacon theme and our mascot is Mr. Wiggles," writes guild leader Gimmlette. "A lot of us live in the northern part of the US and we have a number of Canadian members. This year's winter has seemed overly long, with lots of snow and very cold temperatures. (Guild chat often revolved around just how cold it was somewhere.) We noticed this in Dun Morogh, too, which kind of sank our collective spirits. Snow and cold, everywhere with intermittent blizzards."

Around Azeroth: Undercover of the night

Day 23 embedded with Garrosh's forces. I think the Fallen Protectors might be catching on to my ruse. Maybe they recognize me from all my Golden Lotus rep grinding, but Sun Tenderheart asked me why my last name is "The Destroyer", Rook Stonetoe keeps muttering "He not bear! He trolL!" and I think that He Softfoot can see me flicker back into color when my potion wears off. It might be time to ask the boss for a less dangerous assignment. It can't be too hard to find a Kor'kron foot soldier outfit, can it? (Thanks to submitter Karamatsu of Hordecore on Madoran [US-H] for the screenshot!)

Around Azeroth: If you're having squirrel problems, I feel bad for you, son

I got 99 problems, but the ongoing bloody critter war in Mulgore ain't one. "My young rogue has been learning the ins and outs of the pet battling system and thought she had it just about figured out," writes submitter Ronyn of Moon Knights on Llane (US-A). "Until she stopped off in Mulgore to pick up a spare bunny for some hasenpfeffer. These were not her normal fuzzy bunnies. These battle pets were armed and ready to fight back. All of a sudden, the dry spice bread in the bottom of her backpack didn't look so bad."

Around Azeroth: Halfway between the gutter and the stars

Submitter Dovender of Phoenix Lords on The Maelstrom (EU-A) was leveling his warlock when he noticed that the stars were looking particularly beautiful tonight. For a dwarf born and raised in the depths of Ironforge, the constellations are a magical thing, rarely seen and always wondrous to behold. So Dovender decided to take a break and just stargaze for a bit. He had a great time until a leopard spawned directly on top of him and mauled him within seconds. Nature has its dark side too.
