Small patch deployed

There has been a small patch unexpectedly deployed tonight. According to some, the patch updates the launcher. It appears the game version remains stable at 3.0.9.9551, which is the same numbering we saw earlier in the week when 3.0.9 was released.

The patch is about 5 megs in size. We do not have a download mirror, as it appears to only update the launcher.

While there is some speculation that the launcher is being prepared to get ready for the 3.1 PTR, all that is speculation. We do however, expect the 3.1 PTR to drop sometime soon. In the mean time you can check out our list of known patch 3.1 changes.

If there is any information from Blizzard on the patch, we'll update this post.

Small patch being deployed

There is a small patch deployed today, fixing at least the three bugs we reported on last night.

The patch is a client side patch. This means you'll need to download a new, albeit small, patch when you first log onto WoW today. For me, the patch downloaded and installed automatically when I executed the World of Warcraft Launcher on my desktop (pictured above).

This patch brings the game from version 3.0.8.9464 to 3.0.8.9506. Updated: The patch is 6.923mb in size on a Windows computers (interestingly the program you have to download to get the patch is an additional 2.1mb). The realms should be up by 11:00 a.m. PST / 2:00 p.m. EST today.

We'll bring you more as we learn it.
