WoW Moviewatch: Shining Dreamscape

You may recall Snoman as the chap who did WotLK White Dreamscape. Snoman didn't feel like other preview videos had done justice to the landscape in Wrath of the Lich King, so he created White Dreamscape to give it a much better showcase. Now, Snoman has just released the new video in his Dreamscape series, in which he takes the modelling of Azeroth, and creates something new and interesting.

This video was absolutely gorgeous. It's filled with brilliant and breathtaking views. The technical aspects of Snoman's work are leaps and bounds above much machinima, and every angle and scene shows off his incredible eye for detail. I'm usually hesitant to use words like "gorgeous," but I can think of few videos that deserve it as much as Shining Dreamscape.

WoW Moviewatch: WotLK White Dreamscape

Snoman, the young model-changing prodigy from Nogg-aholic, is back with the latest in his Dreamscape series, White Dreamscape. He felt that most of the Wrath of the Lich King areas that were previewed in other videos went by too quickly, so he took the scenic route. He also showed off some of his newest and unreleased model changes. YouTube doesn't do this video justice, so download a higher quality version if you like what you see!

WoW Moviewatch: Sunday Break

The original video this is paying homage to is a machinima by Dopefish. Baron Soosdon has taken that original exploration concept in hand and with Snoman's updated model-work, provides us with an interesting machinima full of beautiful music and lovely dark imagery. While I've no idea if it was intended, the imagery makes me think of the upcoming Wrath of the Lich King expansion. (I hope it looks half that cool!)

In any case, hats off to Baron Soosdon, Snoman, and Dopefish for their combined ideas that give us this lovely Sunday Break to enjoy!

WoW Moviewatch: Wandering Dreamscape 2: Ephemeral Dreamscape

Much of the machinima made today is an exploration of WoW as it is, living within the created maps and landscapes. Snoman instead creates his own landscapes, showing you how WoW might be. In this the sequel to Wandering Dreamscape, he takes us to some of the brighter versions of places we know. I loved being able to see a new, less dreary version of Tirisfal and Darkshore, and his version of Darnassus gives me an idea of what the original kingdom of Azshara might have been like. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

WoW Moviewatch: Wandering Dreamscape

This is one truly impressive piece of machinima. I don't watch a lot of WoW movies, but it's the coolest use of the WoW engine I've seen since Return. The video's author, Snoman, does some pretty amazing things with WoW's terrain and models, sometimes changing the game world so much that I look at a scene and think "What game is that? And where can I get it?" Here's Snoman's description:

Wandering Dreamscape showcases 17 model changes. These have been edited together into three separate songs; each with it's own theme and story. I have tried to make it as enjoyable as possible, using some amazing trance tracks and filtering nearly every shot as to make it as surrealistically realistically beautiful as possible.

"Surrealistically realistically beautiful," eh? As confusing as that is, I'd say it's accomplished pretty well in this video. Head over to Warcraft Movies if you want to download it, which the author entreats you to do.

[thanks, BaronSoosdon]
