Bloodmyst moths tameable, and other undocumented Hunter changes

Mania's been doing a great job of covering the undocumented Hunter changes in the latest patch -- she's got them on this post down below the usual patch notes. In short, there are a few pets that have become untameable: the Sapphire Hive Queen in Sholazar Basin, the three Oracles spirits summoned during their daily quest, and Gezzarak the Hunter, a Warp Stalker summoned back in Skettis during the Aversarial Blood quest. Strangely enough, problems with those pets have been fixed, so if you've got one tamed from before the patch, it should work better, but you can't seem to tame them now. And finally, the low-level blue moths on Bloodmyst Isle can now be tamed (apparently though the ability to tame Moths got added a while back, these guys couldn't be tamed for some reason).

Of course, lots of BM Hunters aren't real thrilled about the changes to their class, and getting to tame some low-level moths probably isn't a good enough tradeoff. But still, if you've been waiting to go all the way back to Bloodmyst and pick up a moth to take to 80 with you, now's your chance.

Scattered Shots: Pet talent trees in the Wrath Beta

Welcome to another edition of Scattered Shots, the other WoW Insider weekly Hunter column. Daniel Whitcomb is your guest host again this week.

So, we theorized about talented pets a bit quite a few installments of Scattered Shots ago, but now we have the actual trees live and testable on the Wrath Beta, and they seem to be firming up nicely. There's a few promised changes yet to come, such as the removal or lowering of focus costs on many major abilities and talents, and it's still very possible that Blizzard may make changes here and there before live, but I think they're solid enough at this point that we can look at each tree and make some solid predictions about how people will use them and how various talent builds might look.

Hunter pets to have family skills

No, I'm not talking about parenting and honey-do skills. In Wrath of the Lich King, each hunter family will have its own unique skill, just as Warp Stalkers currently have Warp.

While we've known this since the release of the Beta patch notes, we now have some of the details, courtesy of Mania of Mania's Arcania and Petopia.

In fact, some of the pet skills are so enticing that I'm beginning to think I'm going to need about 8 more stable slots! Here is a look at some of the juicier talents:
  • Bats will be able to stun an opponent for 2 seconds.
  • Bears will be able to Swipe similarly to druids, hitting three enemies in melee range.
  • Birds of Prey will be able to disarm opponents for 6 seconds.
  • Hyenas will reduce movement speed.
  • Moths will be increasing their own attack power, and healing themselves.
  • Nether Rays will have a spellcasting interrupt, preventing any spells from that school for one second.
Are you as excited as I am? Don't forget to head over to Petopia to check out the full, detailed list. What pets will you be taming?

Tip: Don't confuse pet skills with pet talents! Read up on the new pet talent trees for more information.

Well Fed Buff: Warp Burgers

Well Fed Buff serves up tasty dishes to boost your HP, stats and appetite – with that special WoW twist, of course. Sorry Well Fed Buff is a little late. The burgers kept warping off the grill. But here they are in all their glory. I'd like to dedicate this week's WFB to my mom. Congrats on Level 40!

I remember when I first wandered into Terokkar Forest just after the release of the burning crusade. I have to admit the Warp Stalkers creeped me out just a little bit. I found a wee bit of revenge I creating these tasty burgers.

The in-game version yields one Warp Burger per cut of Stalker Flesh. This recipe restores 7500 health over 30 sec. If you spend at least 10 seconds eating you will become well fed and gain 20 Agility and Spirit for 30 min.
