Around Azeroth: Ashes, ashes, we all fall down

"Once again, Spectacular Death (A-Llane) is providing an answer to a question you didn't know you had," writes guild leader Gimmlette. "Rednekwichdr wondered just how many people can spin on a fire pole at one time. We were all too happy to answer that. We got a dozen going at once. People discovered that they would get kicked off the pole before the seconds were up to get the full buff so perhaps a dozen is the limit. This probably requires more study. We did have several who needed pole dancing lessons. We shied them away from Ollivor, who offered his own take on pole dancing. Screenshot is not included, because we know this is a family magazine and you won't print that photo. Any dizziness after pole dancing is NOT the result of imbibing from the Brewfest keg."

Around Azeroth: It's a wonderful life in high-def

"Squeeeeee!" exclaimed submitter Peanutbutter. "It's my wee elekk plushie from beta, along with my adorable HD gnome. So much cute packed into one image. My brain struggles to process it. And yes, animated pigtails do indeed live up to the hype!" But what about the creepy huge new gnome eyes, Peanutbutter? You guys look like Bratz dolls. *dodges many tiny, adorable kicks*

Around Azeroth: Trust me, I'm a healer

"So I arrived too late to kill the Sha of Doubt," writes submitter Demonmoose of The Outcast on The Maelstrom (EU-A). "No big deal. I'm here now to ... err ... 'heal' your injuries. If you could ignore the wings, that would be great." No, no, healing is supposed to hurt a little bit. That green tether that feels like it's sucking the life out of you is actually your bones knitting together! Now, I'm going to need to remove your soul for a little bit, just to make sure it isn't damaged.

Around Azeroth: Holy moley

I knew that it takes skill to play a raiding priest, but I never thought I'd see something like this. Submitter Steve has sent in a screenshot of a successful 25-man Throne of Thunder raid, made up entirely of priests. When they cleared it, after what I assume was a truly ridiculous number of wipes, they dropped Angelic Feathers over Lei Shen's corpse to celebrate their victory. Now if only it was a raid of all gnome priests ...

Around Azeroth: Feel the burn

"Fedjeen of Wyrmrest Accord (US-A) was a very small boy when Greymane built the wall," writes today's submitter. "He knew nothing of the outside world. But when the wall came down, Fedjeen went berserk. He ran all over Azeroth and then Draenor, getting into everything just like a curious puppy. But Fedjeen hasn't quite figured out how some parts of life work yet. He was enchanted with the Brazier of Dancing Flames from the first moment he saw her, and invited her on a picnic. I guess if he singes his whiskers when he tries to kiss her, he'll figure it out."

Around Azeroth: Another reason to hate the Warchief

"
I was catching up my holy paladin on the Black Prince quests," writes submitter Jenovea of An She on Zul'jin (US-H). "I noticed when flying around the Horde Landing Site that Garrosh had apparently concluded he was too metal to sit on his mount like the rest of us peons. Instead, he stood up and toed the saddle, too lazy to dismount when I landed to help clear the Alliance from the base site." I think we've all had a boss like that, guys? Usually, less of a genocidal murderer and more of a irritating micromanager, but the principle reminds the same,'

Around Azeroth: Anticipation

"I love going back to old areas of the game to reflect on what has happened," writes submitter Coretta of Dirty Connection on Stormrage (US-A). "It helps me appreciate what's to come, as with looking at Nagrand in Outland, and anticipating all the adventure that will come in Draenor ... even if we don't know when that will come." I see that someone else didn't get into the alpha either! That's all right. You can join me on the couch, quietly refreshing the Steam Summer Sale every eight hours.

Around Azeroth: I know you're around here somewhere

"With the news that you can register for the cosplay part of Blizzcon, a couple members of Spectacular Death (A-Llane) present this costume for consideration," writes guild leader Gimmlette. "Minaithelan and I were working through Sunwell in preparation for an upcoming guild event. While in the demon area of Sunwell, one of the demons got off a fear and I found myself stuck in a cart. Stuck as in couldn't get out. We realize that Blizzard has rules about being able to see and the size of a costume, but we dare someone to, instead of creating an orc costume, show up as a box or a cart. (I think someone did come as the heart box from 'Love Is In the Air.') I wound up having to hearth to get out of the cart. My guild was sooooo sympathetic. 'Only you, Gimm, only you.'"

Around Azeroth: Disc golfing

"At first I thought that a rifle onmy new zero to ninety night elf hunter was a heresy," writes submitter Tuomo of Blade's Edge (EU-A). "One questing transmogrifcation set later, it started to make sense. And the Disc of the Red Flying Cloud literally rounded things up." Ugh, that is just an awful pun. Let's all throw fruit at Tuomo! And then we can figure out if this is some form of Silver Surfer cosplay or not.

Around Azeroth: The ritual slaughtering of the mammoth

The gathered masses on the Timeless Isle were restless. All the rares had been killed, the chests had been looted, and the weird pirate ship had been summoned and destroyed. All that remained was Huolon. But he wouldn't show himself. After an hour of waiting, the mob decided that they needed a sacrifice. Straws were drawn. One tauren came up short. And then the other mammoths devoured the victim. Simple, but bleak. I prefer my method of Huolon-finding, which involves running around the Isle skinning other people's kills until someone writes "Huolon's up" in general chat. (Thanks to submitter Triqz of Crimson Illuminati on Wyrmrest Accord [US-H] for the screenshot!)

Around Azeroth: A passel of nightmares

"For sure you'll get a lot of these, but the guild said I had to send this one to you because you wouldn't have one from Spectacular Death on Llane (US-A)," writes guild leader Gimmlette. "Tonight's event was to kill the Mists of Pandaria world bosses and we started with Galleon. We had 24 people in the raid, including the two druids who were levels 50 and 46. (Yes, they died; a lot, frequently, over and over, but that is the guild name.) I saw the video touting the Warforged Nightmare before logging in and knew I had to have this mount. The fact that everyone in the raid could get a temporary one was a huge bonus. I know at least three people were going to get the mount after having the chance to ride into battle on it. As Lasts said, 'OMG! It dances! Sold!' Well done, Blizzard. Now the only problem is, do I make a transmog that matches my horse?"

Around Azeroth: In which I offend Arizonans

Okay, this Color Run thing has gone too far. It was irritating enough when it was just stoner-type college kids messing up paint jobs on residential streets. But now they've gotten the phoenixes involved. Phoenix, you are a proud and noble creature! Do not degrade your legacy by participating in these shenanigans! It's bad enough that they named that terrible airport connection city after you. (Thanks to submitter Hawk of Expiation on Aggramar [US-A] for the screenshot!)

Around Azeroth: Pretty when you die

"I've been working on my Knights of the Ebon Blade dailies in the downtime while waiting for Warlords of Draenor," writes submitter Razelka of Spectacular Death on Llane (US-A). "When I killed these two and they fell so neatly beside the bench, I had to take a moment to admire my work. And the scenery! The Scarlet Onslaught sure knows how to decorate. That draenei seated pose makes it look all so innocent."

Around Azeroth: Glyph of rain of frogs

When I was a kid, I played on a softball team. They had to take everyone who came, and since I was pretty terrible at every form of athletics, they put me at catcher. I think I had literally one hit the entire season. Anyway, our home field was near a large pond, that contained the usual variety of Wisconsin pond creatures. One day they must have sensed a change in the weather, because right in the middle of the seventh inning, the frogs attacked. Tiny little frogs, appearing out of nowhere, blanketing the field. My friend Sara and I speculated that they were falling from the sky. Since we were little kids, we cried when we had to run the bases and squashed the tiny frogs. I think they eventually just called the game because of that, although they claimed it was because of an approaching thunderstorm. We lost something like 7-1 anyway. Why am I bringing this up? Oh, no reason. (Thanks to submitter Ruuzulu of Hallowed on Sargeras [US-A] for the screenshot!)

Around Azeroth: The weight

Submitter Rhali of Gnomeregan Forever on Wyrmrest Accord (US-A) has discovered one of the downsides of trying to raid with an all-gnome guild. The pressure plates after Immerseus in Siege of Orgrimmar don't activate for anything less than five fully-grown adult humans. Rhali and his friends tried jumping up and down, pulling out their demons and battle pets. but they still couldn't manage to get it to trigger. Time to invite a draenei to the guild, just for this contingency.
