The Queue: The Secret World of Og

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey) found some of the dumbest stuff absolutely terrifying when she was a kid.

One of my favorite Saturday morning cartoons to watch were the ABC Weekend Specials that came on after the usual roundup of regular cartoons. Do you guys remember O.G. Readmore? Anyway, The Secret World of Og is based on a children's book by Pierre Berton. The animated version utterly scared the daylights out of me when I was a kid. I have no idea why. It seems pretty harmless now.

Nocjin asked:

My question: Do you think developers are greatly limited in what they can do with warriors as they use no magic at all? I mean coming up with new ability names must be a nightmare, how many more variations of "hit with weapon" are their left? And all the cool fancy stuff other classes can do won't make sense.

Ooo, it sounds like it's time for a little Saturday Morning Creative Thinking Fun™!

The Queue: Tiny toons

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. It's Anne Stickney's (@Shadesogrey) turn to push the button, not yours. Hers.

There's this guy in my guild who, whenever he visits the lower nests on Ji-Kun, proclaims in vent that he is now going down the hole.

JonathanHill asked:

Doesn't it seem a little too soon for the fight with Garrosh to be so imminent? We've got probably a year and a half left for this expansion (if they don't speed up the release schedule for expansions). I'm actually kind of hoping this is just a feint in storyline progression.

Given how fast Blizzard has been cranking out the patches, I think we are finally seeing the kind of speedy expansion that Blizzard's always hoped for, but not quite been able to pull off until now. Will we see a patch after 5.4? Well ... that's a very good question, and it's something that I suspect will be addressed at BlizzCon in November.

The Queue: You are my son

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Matthew Rossi will be your host today.

"You will give the people of Earth an ideal to strive towards. They will race behind you. They will stumble. They will fall. But in time, they will join you in the sun. In time, you will help them accomplish wonders."

Just take my freaking money already.

ErikSetzer asks:

Q4TQ (and others): It turns out the Alliance title for 5.3 is "The Hordebreaker." Will this make Alliance players happy? And why can't I have a title like "The Alliancebreaker?" Man, all I get to do is be a revolutionary, not break a faction... (grumble, mumble)

I actually quite like the title. I mean, I'm not going to dump 'Death's Demise' for it, but yeah, it's pretty cool. I get why some people are saying we're not actually breaking the Horde, but for once, I'm just going to go along with things.

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Adam Holisky (@adamholisky) will be your host today.

Given the events of the last day, I have little taste to write and talk about WoW at the moment. While video games are a fun distraction, sometimes I think that there needs to be a little less escape into the hyperreal of our simulated environs and more focus on the desert of the real itself. WoW isn't The Matrix, but I've been wondering lately if it's getting too close for comfort. With us being on the verge of complete environmental simulated encapsulation through either consumer-friendly VR glasses or full-room projections, the day will come where we're able to transport ourselves directly into our characters. I don't know if philosophically that level of escapism is advisiable.

So in today's Queue, let's cover some other subjects I can talk about. We'll hit up some WoW, too.

Shannon asked:

Okay, opera then: What's your favorite opera? Do you sing, & if so, what voice part? Do you have a favorite role or character?

The Queue: Sunday morning cartoons

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey) loves Animaniacs almost as much as she loves Freakazoid.

Hey, it's Sunday morning. Well, technically Sunday afternoon. Who cares, have some cartoons!

demon.within.x asked:

Q4tQ: Are Spirits of Harmony still slated to become BoA?

They were never "slated" to become BoA, or even BoE for that matter. People expect them to do so because they've done so with nearly every crafting material prior in every prior expansion. However, Motes and Spirits of Harmony are easily and readily farmed, so I don't know if we'll actually see them ever become BoE. It could happen, but we haven't heard anything to suggest it would happen!

The Queue: Hey

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Mike Sacco will be your host today.

Sup.

sergel92 asked:

Do you think Blizzard will change the size of LFR in future expansions?

Like instead of 25 maybe make it 15 or 20?

It's pretty unlikely. The reason why Raid Finder mode is 25-person only is because it's the ideal ratio of tanks, healers, and DPS compared to who's waiting in the queue. Going to a smaller size means messing with that ratio and affecting queue times. Like it or not, 25 is the best size for everyone right now.

The Queue: Deep Blue something-or-other

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey) just saw the above video for the first time.

This song was stuck in my head all day yesterday, so you guys can have it now. Also, while I'd heard this song about a million times, this is the first time I've seen the video. Man. I'd forgotten how lame hair was back in the mid-90's.

Moving on!

Alexey asked:

Do you think Blizzard is kinda...overdoing Garrosh's, er, villain-ness? The more info I see on next patch, the more one-sided he gets. Somehow it seems like he's trying to get as many people angry as possible on purpose. It doesn't even look like he simply doesn't consider consequences - he just specifically choses the worst thing to do!

Oh I do love talking about Garrosh.

The Queue: Anduin Lothar, because he was Anduin Lothar

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Matthew Rossi will be your host today.

Let's get it on.

Dawn Moore asks:
Who has the best beard in the warcraft universe and why?

As the title makes clear, the answer is Anduin Lothar, and the reasoning is simple. Because he was Anduin Lothar. His beard is better than Malfurion's because he was objectively better than Malfurion. I'm sorry, but the answer is Anduin Lothar and that's the end of it. I didn't write a two part love letter to Anduin Lothar because someone else had a better beard.

The Queue: Crack that whip

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Mike Sacco will be your host today.

Okay, sure, one more Castlevania music video to round out the weekend.

KvalriSunstrider asked:

Has it ever been explicity stated in lore that the Titanic Watchers or the Dragon Aspects are more powerful than the other? Is an NPC's Level an indication of their power (I mean lore power here, obviously it's an indication of their mechanical power) or of where they fall in the universe's timeline? I know I sometimes try to apply conventional wisdom to WoW where it isn't really applicable, but this has been driving me nuts as I've gotten more and more into the lore.

Unlike old Transformers toy boxes, there's no convenient Power Level Rating for most Azerothian beings. We're not sure who's stronger, or how that strength would even be measured, for that matter.

The Queue: La hora es tarde

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Mike Sacco will be your host today.

I guess I'm doing two Castlevania music videos in a row. Will tomorrow be the hat trick?!

NunoMarce asked:

Is there any criteria Blizzard uses when sending free gameplay weeks for inactive accounts ? I ask because I want to resub my girlfriend's account but I was waiting for the free week so she could play the free seven days plus the month, but so far she never got the email from Blizzard. Should be worth mentioning we both received several free weeks in the past, and I got mine as soon as 5.2 hit. Some friends of mine even got the free week twice! What gives?

Honestly, I couldn't tell you. I'm sure Blizzard has internal criteria for sending out the free weeks -- you could try asking the BlizzardCS Twitter account.

The Queue: Castlevaniacapella

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Mike Sacco will be your host today.

I've been watching all the video game acapella videos this guy made. I love them.

OolongSOE asked:

Wasn't Blizzard going to increase the guild max level to 30 with Mist of Pandaria? Has there been any word if this will actually happen before the last 5.x expansion?

The devs talked about doing this but ultimately backed out, saying they felt it was just updating for updating's sake instead of for a compelling reason. There's been no further indication that the guild level cap will be raised in MoP. We'll see what the next expansion brings.

The Queue: Lollipop and removing heroic dungeons from the random LFG tool

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Adam Holisky (@adamholisky) will be your host today.

Enjoy the above video.

Really, enjoy it. A friend at my other gig showed this to me earlier this week -- it's been annoyingly stuck in my head ever since. And before anyone goes there, no, there is no hidden meaning to lollipop, the song writer has even come out and said it just means don't get done with your childhood too fast, that love will find you.

Anyways, once again, enjoy.

Jackson asked:

We know heroic scenarios are coming, and today I learned these are only for premade groups, but I can't seem to find info on whether the new scenarios are heroic only or not. Will I be able to run non-heroic versions with an LFD group?

The Queue: So it goes

The Queue So it goes
Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Adam Holisky (@adamholisky) will be your host today.

In today's Queue we go over LFR trolling, professions, BlizzCon 2013, and cookies. Let's get started, lest we become unstuck in time.

KuRo asked:

Why does Blizz make trash pulls in LFR that are insanely trollable?

We had two druids healing last night with Nature's Vigil popped and they kept pulling Tortos over and over till they got caught and kicked.

(Nature's vigil BTW: While active, all single-target healing spells also damage a nearby enemy target for 25% of the healing done. The spell has a super long range. We had issues with it popping CC in WindyBlade Lord in HoF too. )

The Queue
Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Mike Sacco will be your host today.

I finished BioShock Infinite last night and by golly was that a heck of an ending. Highly recommended. Rent it if you can't buy it.

John22 asked:

What is up with new pets dropping from old bosses (Karazan, SSC)? I'm not complaining, but could it be a sign of revamping to come? Heroic Kara? New area discovered? Those scary tombs?

Highly unlikely. Besides a few tweaks to make soloing or small-group play in those raids easier, no changes were made to the other old raids when they added pets to them. Not that I wouldn't love to do heroic Karazhan, mind you.

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Mike Sacco will be your host today.

I love this video. What a vicious monster!

drorraz asked:

With the new raiding with leashes pets dropping from SSC bosses, do we get to enter that place solo or do we still have to group for that part?

You can enter any pre-MoP raid without needing a raid group. You've actually been able to for a while!
