Two Bosses Enter: Echo of Baine vs. Peroth'arn

In Two Bosses Enter, WoW Insider's series of fantasy death matches, bosses, leaders, and powerful figures of World of Warcraft face off in the squared circle. Your vote determines who wins and claims the season title.

With a resounding roar of the crowd and the spectacular boom of the fireworks overhead, Season 3 of Two Bosses Enter has begun! Our first matchup mixes up the past and the future in one fell swoop by bringing two combatants from two edges of time into the same arena. From the bleak future of End Time comes the coalesced fear, anger, and sorrow of tauren chieftain Baine Bloodhoof, a powerful entity lingering on in an Azeroth obliterated by Deathwing. Plucked from the past is Peroth'arn, a satyr guard of the Well of Eternity, placed in the majestic palace courtyard to ward off invaders of the Well rituals. Both of these combatants have their work cut out for them in this matchup.

Since many bosses are being designed these days with area of effect abilities and environmental obstacles that must be overcome in order to defeat the encounter, I want to stress the rules a little bit on Two Bosses Enter -- environmental abilities and cool stuff are fair game and always have been fair game. The arena can be whatever you want it to be. For instance, Echo of Baine has a very cool ability with which he destroys platforms floating in lava. From here on out, the mages of Dalaran employed by the great Tirion Fordring on his Board of Tournament Creation and Trusts will now magically transform the arena into whatever the combatants could reasonably ask for. Remember this when discussing the outcome, readers.

Who wins? Echo of Baine vs. Peroth'arn
Echo of Baine (End Time)2078 (65.2%)
Peroth'arn (Well of Eternity)1107 (34.8%)

Two Bosses Enter: Season 3 lineup brings in raid boss debut

In Two Bosses Enter, WoW Insider's series of fantasy death matches, bosses, leaders, and powerful figures of World of Warcraft face off in the squared circle. Your vote determines who wins and claims the season title.

We've logged plenty of hours in patch 4.3 and are now familiar enough with the new bosses and cast of characters to begin Two Bosses Enter Season 3: The Cataclysm Finals. With the third season of Two Bosses Enter, we say goodbye to Cataclysm and World of Warcraft's third expansion. Let's go out in style -- explosions, fighting, brutality, and just a little bit of fun.

Season 3 will work just a little differently than season 2 did. There are 11 contestants in season 3 that come from the new 5-man instances introduced in patch 4.3, all of which you've probably seen countless times while running your weekly allotment of heroic dungeons. The other five contestants are a bit more peculiar. Lord Godfrey will return as reigning champion to fight in this series of matches and defend his title, while the other four spots on the roster will be filled by the first four bosses in the Dragon Soul raid, The Siege of Wyrmrest Temple. Your 16 combatants are ready to rumble.

In the past, raid bosses were not really a part of Two Bosses Enter because of their accessibility and general place in the WoW community. While many people know who Baleroc or Majordomo Staghelm are, not as many people have actually been involved in the fight, face-to-face with the bosses themselves. With the introduction of the Raid Finder, more players than ever are experiencing the raid content WoW has to offer. More players know who Hagara, Morchok, and the rest are. With newfound accessibility and pervasiveness, we can now accept into the ranks of the Two Bosses Enter combatants our current raid bosses. These are exciting times for all of us.

Two Bosses Enter: Brann Bronzebeard wins the exhibition season

In Two Bosses Enter, WoW Insider's series of fantasy death matches, bosses, leaders, and powerful figures of World of Warcraft face off in the squared circle. Your vote determines who wins and claims the season title.

The votes have been tallied and Brann Bronzebeard, greatest explorer in the history of Azeroth, takes the championship title in the first exhibition season of Two Bosses Enter. With a clear win and holding almost 700 more votes than his opponent, Brann decisively took this match on the road to victory. Not only was Brann a popular contestant on this season of Two Bosses Enter, but commenters were drawn to his haphazard approach to danger and his affinity for unleashing horrors onto Azeroth that will one day need to be slain for loot.

There were some wonderful responses to the final matchup last week in the comments. While I'm not going to be talking about all of them, since many are too long to appropriately format here, I have to highlight all of the spectacular effort in the comments coming up with the fan-made scenarios of these fun matchups. Thank you guys for making Two Bosses Enter fun each and every week.

Now, it's time for the event you've all been waiting for. Brann Bronzebeard takes a decisive victory against his brother, Muradin -- but how does the young dwarf out-drink his older and more resilient brother?

Two Bosses Enter: Yorg Stormheart vs. Brann Bronzebeard

In Two Bosses Enter, WoW Insider's series of fantasy death matches, bosses, leaders, and powerful figures of World of Warcraft face off in the squared circle. Your vote determines who wins and claims the season title.

The battle between Yorg Stormheart and Aethas Sunreaver was a much, much closer match than I had anticipated ever happening between a dwarf and a blood elf. Seriously, you guys, how do you keep pulling these fast ones on me? Every week, I am surprised by the results -- except any week in which Brann is present.

Speaking of weeks in which Brann is present, Yorg Stormheart has successfully bested Archmage Aethas Sunreaver in the WoW Insider ring and moves on to the final matchup. Brann Bronzebeard is the only obstacle that stands in the way of total Two Bosses Enter domination, but there is still a long, rough week ahead for the voting.

Many of you are now realizing that the battle unfolding on the next page is, in fact, between two brothers. If you didn't realize that until now, avert your shock and awe for mere moments until the voting is done, and then continue your amazement at the final matchup between Brann Bronzebeard and Muradin Bronzebeard, brothers until the end. Since this final matchup is a little different than most, how about we mess with the rules a little bit, too?

Instead of the routine no-holds-barred mayhem we usually let these combatants get into, what about a good old-fashioned dwarven drinking contest? Who wins this matchup, WoW Insider community? Only you can decide.

Who drinks who under the table?

Who wins? Yorg Stormheart vs. Brann Bronzebeard
Yorg Stormheart (The Frostborn)1098 (38.7%)
Brann Bronzebeard (The Explorer's League)1741 (61.3%)

Two Bosses Enter: Yorg Stormheart vs. Archmage Aethas Sunreaver

In Two Bosses Enter, WoW Insider's series of fantasy death matches, bosses, leaders, and powerful figures of World of Warcraft face off in the squared circle. Your vote determines who wins and claims the season title.

This, my friends, is a powerhouse match. The Injuries in Icecrown. The Rumble in the Halls of Reflection. The Gore in the Glacier. The Damage in Dalaran. Yorg Stormheart, immovable king of the Frostborn dwarves, strides into the arena to battle one of the single most powerful mages from one of the single most powerful families of elves, Archmage Aethas Sunreaver. Horde or Alliance, Sunreaver or Frostborn, we are all getting a ridiculously awesome match tonight.

In our last exciting episode of Two Bosses Enter, Ishanah of the Aldor priests had the horrible misfortune of going up against Brann Bronzebeard, expert explorer and mega-fan favorite of the tournament. There wasn't any chance in hell for Ishanah to escape from this massacre, so let's go look at the scoreboard just to make sure it wasn't an embarrassing defeat, at least.

Guess not. Ishanah, you're out of here, pal.

Now's your chance to pitch in and make this world a better place by choosing who you feel wins the match between Yorg Stormheart and Archmage Aethas Sunreaver. Your vote decides the fate of us all.

Who wins? Yorg Stormheart vs. Archmage Aethas Sunreaver
Yorg Stormheart (The Frostborn)1374 (51.4%)
Archmage Aethas Sunreaver (The Sunreavers)1297 (48.6%)

Two Bosses Enter: Ishanah vs. Brann Bronzebeard

In Two Bosses Enter, WoW Insider's series of fantasy death matches, bosses, leaders, and powerful figures of World of Warcraft face off in the squared circle. Your vote determines who wins and claims the season title.

To the cheers of a roaring crowd, Archmage Aethas Sunreaver stands triumphant against the noble taunka leader Roanauk Icemist. No amount of prayer and reverence to the elements could stem the tide of the arcane powers of the Archmage. What makes me happy is that we will have a blood elf in the semi-final matchups, a situation that I would not have expected to happen this go around.

Our featured matchup this week pits two first-round winners against each other in the first semi-final bout in the Two Bosses Enter exhibition season. From her high seat of power atop Aldor Rise, High Priestess Ishanah commands the gifts bestowed upon her by her naaru allies. From the depths under a forgotten tomb, Brann Bronzebeard lurks in musty corridors, searching for long-lost artifacts. Who is advancing to the next round of Two Bosses Enter?

Who wins? Ishanah vs. Brann Bronzebeard
Ishanah (The Aldor)783 (24.8%)
Brann Bronzebeard (The Explorer\'s League)2374 (75.2%)

Two Bosses Enter: Aethas Sunreaver vs. Roanauk Icemist

In Two Bosses Enter, WoW Insider's series of fantasy death matches, bosses, leaders, and powerful figures of World of Warcraft face off in the squared circle. Your vote determines who wins and claims the season title.

In last week's thrilling episode of Two Bosses Enter, Scryer head honcho Voren'thal the Seer went head-to-head against Yorg Stormheart, king of the Frostborn dwarves. Vorenthal's magister abilities were not match for the dwarven mountain king and his crazy hammer of jormungar bashing. Yorg Stormheart, also known as Muradin Bronzebeard, easily trounced this round, giving the dwarf a bona fide win.

This week's matchup signals the end of the first round of exhibition season one with an all-Horde fight between Archmage Aethas Sunreaver of the Sunreaver faction versus Roanauk Icemist, proud taunka chieftain of the Dragonblight. Aethas' leadership, vigilence, and savvy goes up against the brute strength and cunning of an elder taunka warrior. Only you readers have the power to decide who goes on to the next round.

Vote now -- the fate of the universe depends on your action.

Who wins? Archmage Aethas Sunreaver vs. Roanauk Icemist
Archmage Aethas Sunreaver (The Sunreavers)1565 (55.4%)
Roanauk Icemist (The Taunka)1261 (44.6%)

Two Bosses Enter: Voren'thal vs. Yorg Stormheart

In Two Bosses Enter, WoW Insider's series of fantasy death matches, bosses, leaders, and powerful figures of World of Warcraft face off in the squared circle. Your vote determines who wins and claims the season title.

The love our community has for the great explorer Brann Bronzebeard is second to none, as the stalwart dwarf easily defeated The Silver Covenant's leader Vereesa Windrunner in last week's matchup that delighted Brann fans and maybe made a new Vereesa fan or two. Nonetheless, it was a big voting week, and this week's matchup will test your loyalties just as much.

As our exhibition season continues, factional lines are drawn in the sand and loyalties are tested. Champions from varying factions are pitted against each other, and you decide who reigns supreme. This week's matchup puts an unlikely ally to the naaru up against an unlikely king of dwarves. Voren'thal, once a tool of Kael'thas, now stands against Yorg Stormheart, once the great Muradin Bronzebeard. Who wins, readers?

Who wins? Voren'thal vs. Yorg Stormheart
Voren'thal (The Scryers)812 (35.7%)
Yorg Stormheart (The Frostborn)1463 (64.3%)

Two Bosses Enter: Brann Bronzebeard vs. Vereesa Windrunner

In Two Bosses Enter, WoW Insider's series of fantasy death matches, bosses, leaders, and powerful figures of World of Warcraft face off in the squared circle. Your vote determines who wins and claims the season title.

The Two Bosses Enter exhibition season continues with a matchup of two Alliance powerhouses duking it out for fame and glory. Brann Bronzebeard, legendary explorer and Old God waker-upper, will put his years of experience running away from and narrowly escaping the horrors of Azeroth to use as he stands short and proud against Vereesa Windrunner, youngest of the Windrunner daughters and perfect with a bow. Which Alliance champion will come out on top?

With a solid first win under her belt, Ishanah of the Aldor kicks Tae'thelan Bloodwatcher back to his dig site in the Badlands, ending his chances for victory in the exhibition season. Readers fondly remembered Ishanah from their Burning Crusade days, pointing to her prominence as one of the naaru's chosen as being instrumental to her win. Plus, I think readers just like her better.

The time has come, adventurers. Who will move on to the next round? Vote! Vote, I say!

Who wins? Brann Bronzebeard vs. Vereesa Windrunner
Brann Bronzebeard2767 (58.4%)

Lord Godfrey is moving on to the final matchup after a solid win against his opponent Foe Reaper 5000. Despite the mechanical reaper's resilience through the tournament and his hardcore following, Lord Godfrey's twin pistols dismantled every nut, bolt, and gizmo. Foe Reaper 5000, we hardly knew ye. Lord Godfrey will now have to face either Vanessa VanCleef or Zanzil in the final matchup of this season of Two Bosses Enter.

I can guarantee that this matchup between Vanessa VanCleef and Zanzil will be the most epic match of this season of Two Bosses Enter. Sure, the finals are coming up, and that will definitely be an epic matchup, but these are the two biggest heavy hitters of the tournament. Will fanboy favorite Vanessa VanCleef be able to best the coolest Troll to rule the school since Zul'jin? Poison master versus potion master. This one is for the history books.
