Review of Trivial Pursuit: World of Warcraft Edition

Review of Trivial Pursuit World of Warcraft Edition
Trivial Pursuit is a game that I grew up playing with friends and family, so I've always had a fondness for it. It was born in 1979 in the wilds of Canada, and it made its way down to the United States in the early 80's. Over the years there have been a number of question sets and versions of the game. Star Wars, Saturday Night Live, and Lord of the Rings all lay claim to a version of Trivial Pursuit. Personally, I think it's long overdue that we get a World of Warcraft version of the game.

I had the pleasure of going through and playing World of Warcraft Trivial Pursuit this weekend with my regular table top gaming group. We are a group of current and former players that range from everything from hard core raiders to lore addicts. It just seemed like a good idea to get together and put the game through its paces.

San Diego Comic Con 2013 Blizzard Licensing Panel now online

Wondering what was talked about at the SDCC 2013 Blizzard Licensing panel? The fine folks over at Blizzplanet have released a video recording of the entire panel from start to finish. Included in the discussion are new toys, statues, and upcoming books -- including the children's book Snowfight, written by Chris Metzen with illustrations by Wei Wang, that we mentioned last week.

The panel also included a fairly lengthy Q&A session that covered both licensed products and game questions as well. Q&A topics ranged from the future of beloved raid instances like Karazhan to the balance between including major events both in novels and in the game itself, as well as balance between PvP and PvE, among many other topics. There are also some funny moments like the video above, in which Chris Metzen deftly avoids spoiling the debut of the Warcraft movie teaser that was shown later on in another panel at the convention. Be sure to check out Blizzplanet's post for the full set of panel videos.

New items for sale at J!NX

J!NX merch
Looking for the perfect WoW-themed hoodie, t-shirt, cap, or accessories? If you've recently given up on finding what you want, it might be time to give J!NX another look. They've got a selection of new, never-before-seen stock for Blizzard games that could well be worth a look. In addition, pre-orders are open for the upcoming Horde and Alliance themed track jackets, which I think look pretty slick.

Lastly, there are also new t-shirts available featuring some of the classic art from Warcraft, StarCraft, and Diablo II. If you've always wanted something featuring the games of times gone by, now's your chance to pick one up, whether you remember playing them the days they came out or if you're newer to the charms of our digital predecessors. Happy shopping!

PrintWarcraft.com offers original WoW posters

It's time for me to put my money where my mouth is. A while back, I tweeted that if they released official prints of the Gnomeregan propaganda poster, I'd buy one. I'd like to thank Blizzard, because they are now offering a large selection of original posters through Printwarcraft.com. Selections include the Gnomeregan and Echo Isles propaganda posters, as well as artwork from many past major patches and in-game events, even as far back as the Gates of Ahn'Qiraj and the Shadow of the Necropolis.

Most of the art is actually familiar, having appeared on various websites and art books long ago, but it's still pretty awesome stuff, and more than worth hanging on a wall. If your home or office has some bare walls, this might be a good excuse to fill them. You can check at the selection at PrintWarcraft.com.

Breakfast Topic: Do you buy just because of the WoW brand?

So Mountain Dew is pushing Game Fuel, the site has been live for a couple of weeks and now Battle Bots have gone live for all you lucky people in the US who asked for one. Now I love the WoW brand as much as anyone but that doesn't mean I want to quaff strange liquids in the hope of winning prizes.

It makes me wonder, does seeing that shiny WoW logo on a bottle, a mouse mat or some other item of merchandise make you more likely to buy it? Do you think that the WoW logo brings with it some kind of quality mark that sets such an item out as being worthy of your purchase? Drop your thoughts into the comments box below.
