Around Azeroth: Pretty as a prayerbook

"I was on my way to the Shrine of the Seven Stars from The Lion's Redoubt, and came across this stunning waterfall near the Pools of Purity," writes submitter Valora of Moonglade (EU-A). "I'm thinking about returning with a prospector's pan in my backpack. There definitely appears to be gold dust in that waterfall!" If my experience as a child at multiple gold mine tourist traps is anything to go by, you'll end up spending ten gold for about one gold worth of dust and an empty vial.

Around Azeroth: The time is now to bring peace to the world

"My guild just hosted our 9th Annual Armistice Day Ball, a cross-faction open RP event where we commemorate the Battle of Mt. Hyjal," writes submitter Derscha Kettlebomb of AAMS Alliance Branch on Cenarion Circle (US-A). "This year, we were very pleased to have our new friends from Sisters of Elune celebrate with us, too. We decided to host it out in Seradane this year for a bit of nostalgia before Warlords of Draenor hits; the very first ball I attended when I was aguild newbie was held at the portal in Duskwood. Pictured here is a screenshot from our big fireworks finale."

Around Azeroth: Is this burning an eternal flame?

"It appears not all Druids of the Flame perished after the sortie we led into the Firelands and the subsequent death of Fandral Staghelm and Ragnaros," writes submitter Wendishe of Decoden on Aszune (EU-H). "Three of them paid a visit to the Shrine of Two Moons eariler in the autumn. Since they didn't start setting fire to things right away they were tolerated, much like goblins (who, after all, have a tendency to blow things up - even when they are on your side.) They didn't say much, just watched the goings-on in the shrine for a bit and then departed."

Around Azeroth: G-g-g-ghost cow!

"While awaiting an audience with Garrosh Hellscream about excavation projects in the Vale and how we proud members of the Shado-Pan will not stand for the desecration of our sacred lands, I encountered something quite peculiar," writes submitter Shenwei of Revolution on Wyrmrest Accord (US-H). "Being a shaman, I am attuned rather well to both the elemental and spiritual planes, and if you look closely at this image of Garrosh giving an up-and-coming adventurer their next assignment, there is a ghostly tauren speaking to him in the background. Is this the beloved former chieftain Cairne Bloodhoof attempting to be an adviser from beyond the grave, or is it someone deciding to play a prank on the Warchief?"

Around Azeroth: Some like it hot and some sweat when the heat is on

Frequent submitter Arugadh of The Brotherhood of Iron on Wyrmrest Accord (US-A) has taken another hit for the team and returned to Gallywix's Pleasure Palace for some screenshots. She doesn't want to be there, she'd rather be pulling weeds on her farm for the four hundredth consecutive day, but duty calls. This time, she's visited his private sauna, which always makes me think of the Simpsons episode where someone tries to kill Homer by locking him in a steam room. Also, is that hookah wrapped around that entire end table?

Around Azeroth: How little we know

"I can be rather obtuse when it comes to seeing things in the game," writes submitter Gimmlette of Spectacular Death on Llane (US-A). "Something that everyone knows is there can be completely missed by me. I was heading over to Karazhan to do my weekly fail run (Seriously Attumen. Just give me the mount and I'll stop killing you once a week.) and I saw something in the tower. Flying in for a closer look, I was astonished to see these gryphons and another portal.

Has this always been here? I wouldn't be surprised if it has. There's so much to look at in the game, but I've been coming to Karazhan every week for over six months and this is the first time I've noticed this. I did not see a wind rider, but the Horde could use this flight path, too. It reminds me of Blackrock Mountain where the entry to Blackwing Descent is on the terrace where the final battle with Nefarian occurs in Blackwing Lair.

Still, we got all excited earlier in the year when it was noted the cobwebs had been removed from Karazhan. Could this be a precursor of something coming? If you want to check it out for yourself, it's about a quarter of the way down the tower from the top. There's not enough room in the space for a stone or a lot of people entering the portal."

Around Azeroth: You've changed, Harold

You're not the squirrel I married all those years ago. I know, I know, we all get older and our bodies change. But really, Harold, you've let yourself go. What happened to your soft fur? Your smooth skin? Remember back when you used to spend time with me in the evenings, instead of retreating inside that man-cave you carry on your back? I'm afraid that we've grown too far apart, Harold. I'm leaving you. Don't try to catch up with me, either, because I know you can't run as fast as you used to. (Thanks to submitter Serulean of Misha [US-H] for the screenshot!)

Around Azeroth: Preaching to the damned

"So my ministry to the poor, downtrodden critters of Azeroth continues just swimmingly ... almost," writes submitter Arugadh of The Brotherhood of Iron on Wyrmrest Accord (US-A). "I've found that once converted, my congregation of critters will follow me into the very depths of Icecrown itself, across forbidding mountains, through frozen seas, over tall spiky walls. But the devotion stops just short of actually helping me when I attempt to 'convert' one of the Scourge to the Light. Granted, said conversion usually means leaving said Scourge lying in massive heaps of dead bones all over the landscape, but you'd think that my newly-converted devoted congregation would be willing to put their faith into practice by helping.

But no. They were content to watch, squawking their encouragement, then wandering off in search of fish when I tried to beg for help. Stupid flightless waterfowl. It was also my luckless discovery that CRZ phasing disperses my critter congregation, which means that any plans for leading a sheep/chicken/cat invasion of Stormwind are out of the question at the moment."

Around Azeroth: Evolution or devolution?

Did the filthy, savage race of trolls really evolve into the noble elves we see today? Or, through some unholy process, did the shamanistic, nature loving trolls somehow degenerate and become a gang of elitist magic junkies? Submitter Hallebruinja of Preemptive Retribution on Silver Hand (US-A), standing in the middle, represents an intermediate form.

Around Azeroth: Frozen in time

"While wandering the Timeless Isle and completing some errands for Wrathion, I came across this odd specimen," writes submitter Braedori Sunhawk, Horde Branch Manager of AAMS on Cenarion Circle (US-H). "I am sure the magisters of Silvermoon will be quite intrigued. We should decidedly investigate the long-term effects and possible ramifications of our ability to alter time, albeit in small segments."

Around Azeroth: So hoist up the John B's sail

"Spectacular Death likes to provide answers to the questions you didn't know needed to be asked," writes submitter Gimmlette. "This time, it's how many pirates will fit in the crow's nest in Booty Bay. Step one is to get everyone into a raid. Step two is to order them to take their summons and like it. Step three is to have everyone greet Dread Captain DeMeza. Our tests conclude that the crow's nest holds many more than the dozen we had online before our 'Raid Like a Pirate' event. Yes, there is a reason Ollivor is sitting on the top of the mast. Do you know what's inside a voidwalker? Now you know why all the rum is gone."

Around Azeroth: I'm not your personal taxi

"So what happened was ... I'm out leveling and my guildmate Roowen offers to join me," writes submitter Warriormama of Equinox on Llane (US-A), who does not know that for medical personnel, the phrase 'what happened was' is an indication that the story about to be told is an utter falsehood. "Since she can fly and I cannot, she starts shuttling me around from quest to quest to make traveling go a little faster. Next thing I know, I'm stranded on a tree branch far up and looking down over Townlong Steppes as she flies away." It might be time to consider paying for gas, Warriormama.

Around Azeroth: And you can send me dead pandas every morning

"I saw the picture submitted by Shadanah of Hyjal (US-H) today, and it immediately reminded me of a similar incident that occurred the other day," writes submitter Udaenor of The Expandables on Thunderlord (US-H). "I too was on my farm in Halfhill innocently going about my daily chores when I discovered a pandaren named Farmer Erryei of Destromath (US-H) lying in my field. As any concerned undead rogue would do when faced with a lone undefended individual of the same faction, I reached down to check for a pulse -- perhaps also for a bit of a taste, but I digress. I became concerned when I discovered that the pandaren had no pulse. I decided it was best to quickly 'dispose' of the body, as I had a questionable reputation with the local Halfhill constabulary. I had nothing to do with this body, guards. Really."

Around Azeroth, Beta Edition: An office romance

"I spotted this pair of druids sharing a meal near my garrison in Shadowmoon Valley," writes beta tester Riyahnasheed. "I'm not certain if it's a pair of coworkers commiserating after a hard day's work, or a budding office romance. I suppose we will find out if a plate of spaghetti appears and a meatball starts being nudged back and forth in future patches. Just think -- we might see winged kittens out of this! What could possibly go wrong with that?"

Around Azeroth: I still see dead people

"The link above is from over a year ago," writes submitter Shadanah of The Wolves of War on Hyjal (US-H), who has apparently had a very long summer that has destroyed his ability to measure the passage of time. "I returned to my farm, found a dead guy, prayed over him, and went on about my business. I came back home again, a year later, and I find this. Why do you do this to me, Blizzard?"
