Around Azeroth: And her amazing educated rodents

"I was recently running through Karazhan without my usual hunter pet," writes submitter Barlafumble on Llane (US-A). "To make up for my missing companion, I used the Panflute of Pandaria. They were great -- almost as good as using Stampede! If only I could get them to fetch loot, too." Someone's been playing a little bit of Torchlight.

Around Azeroth: Giants on the town

"I made a new friend tonight when I rescued this big guy from his cage in Zul'Drak," writes submitter Aegahn of Earthen Ring (US-A). "However, it got awkward when I was ready to hearth home for the night and Gymer just wasn't ready to say goodbye. So we capped off the night by taking in the sights of Dalaran!" Sadly, such fun comes with a heavy price. Aegahn will be paying off the property damage until he's level 95.

Around Azeroth: Lasers and leaves

"Spectacular Death of Llane (US-A) ventured into the Siege of Orgrimmar on Flex mode and took on the Iron Juggernaut," writes guild leader Gimmlette. "It was the first time we'd made it to this boss as we're not really a progression raiding guild, or, rather, our idea of 'progression' is different. I take a lot of screenshots of our events, mainly to put up on the guild web site, but also to remind us of where we've been and what we've done. With all the things to get out of the way of in the Juggernaut fight, I didn't have time to take very many photos, since it was the first time we'd been here as a guild. This is my favorite. Druid healing, tar, fire and a creepy pair of eyes. Here's looking at you, kid?"

Around Azeroth: Lions and tigers and BEARS! OH GOD BEARS!

"Is this not the most effective creation of a bearicade you've ever seen?" writes submitter Classiccs of Amaranth Knights on Proudmoore (US-A). "We mounted these savage beasts with our bear hands, no fancy gloves! Although my little gnome legs were bearly able to straddle the thing. Sorry, I'll stop while I'm ahead, these puns are unbearable." Okay, a hundred gold to whoever squashes the little gnome in retaliation for the awful puns in this submission. Careful, his helmet is spiky.

Around Azeroth: Pimp my horse

"After a couple of years on the job as the Lich King, Bolvar has definitely been working to make improvements to the Scourge," writes submitter Dendekahl of Mattachine Knights on Proudmoore (US-A). "I saw one of these changes he got from his friend Sauron earlier this week. Flying knights! No word on whether this is the Headless Horseman's off-season job ..."

Around Azeroth: I saw the sign

"I found those strange signs outside the Stormwind Auction House one day," writes submitter Driss of The PuG on Agamaggan (EU-A). "Apparently it is a pretty dangerous place. Or maybe the guards cornered a holiday raid boss inside and did not want innocent bystanders involved with the arrest." Or this weekend could be Stormwind's equivalent of Black Friday. Frankly, if they're going to start putting warning signs on everything dangerous or deadly in Azeroth, they're going to run out of wood.

Around Azeroth: I survived Snowpocalypse 2014, ask me how!

"Like a good noble discipline priest of the Alliance, I'm always looking for an edge in raiding," writes submitter Euphoría of Celestial Rebirth on Emerald Dream (US-A). "With the help of a shaman teacher I met in my travels, I have learned to shape water into my shield spell. With my water barrier, I'm ready for anything that Garrosh Hellscream has to throw at me!" Either that, or she's learned to summon up an ice planet, which is a little too much power for any one player to have.

Around Azeroth: Our hearts are wrong

"This is a Valentine's Day inspired screenshot," writes submitter Lesteinth of Darkblood Coven on Rexxar (US-H). "My guildmate Jillith recently had her heart bruised a bit, so despite having a heart of ice himself, my death knight tried to lift the paladin's spirits." I should write a longer caption, but really, I just want all of you guys to see these photos, taken about ten minutes from my apartment, and know that I just got off of a twelve-hour night shift driving the ambulance in that. Suck it, snow.

Around Azeroth: Curl up and dye

Worgen have to deal with a lot of problems that other races don't even consider. How do I find armor that fits two vastly different body types? Should I cut a hole in my robe for my tail to show through or not? Will the raid leader get mad if I get excited about a drop and pee on him? But most importantly for Wirrieation and Nounours of GrandGalacticInquisitor on Llane (US-A): how come I can't get a hairstyle that doesn't look like I just jumped in a lake and then stuck my head out of the car window for the whole ride home?

Warlords of Draenor: New Talador screenshot

We've had several recent tweets from Blizzard developers coyly discussing aspects of certain upcoming patches, or, say expansions. With no Warlords of Draenor beta access yet in sight, every potential glimpse into that world gives us something to get excited about, and last night's tweet of the above picture from Creative Director Alex Afrasiabi is no exception.

If you're not quite yet familiar with the different areas of Draenor, our own Matthew Rossi has an excellent article to enlighten you. Talador is a the center of the continent, described as "the heart of Draenor." In that area can be found both the draenei's central city Shattrath and the great mausoleum of Auchindoun. Unfortunately for those draenei players who may wish to make a pilgrimage to Shattrath, Warlords of Draenor finds it almost completely occupied by the Iron Horde. At least Talador itself is serene and beautiful, as the screenshot shows.

Preliminary speculation among the WoW Insider staff has us fairly sure that the settlement in Afrasiabi's picture is none other than Tuurem. Burning Crusade era players may remember Tuurem as a ruin in the middle of Terrokar Forest filled with hostile Broken. It was also the key to several quests, including forging the connection between Firewing Point and the unfortunate fate of the Cenarion Thicket. In any case, Tuurem looks a lot nicer in that screenshot than it does in Terrokar, that's for sure.

Feral romance? Submitter Langthin of Aerie Peak (EU-A) sent in this picture, which he says was "from old times, when I was in love with a fellow druid ... long story." Personally, I'd delete screenshots like this when the relationship is over so I wouldn't get all wistful and start drunk-messaging my ex on Facebook. That's another downside to the digital age -- torching a flash drive full of jpegs just isn't as satisfying as using a lighter to burn all the photographs of you and your ex happy together.

Around Azeroth: In a lonely place

"Spectacular Death of Llane (US-A) has been running groups to get the Herald of the Titans achievement," writes submitter Epicurian. "It takes work and a willingness to do some research into what you can and can't wear on your toon in order to qualify. Then, you actually need to read up on the fight. When you can solo Algalon as a level 90, the idea that there might be mechanics to the fight and that they need to be followed makes this a bit tougher than your usual run. And leave it to us to discover a flaw in the room.

If you wipe and someone uses a Mass Rez, you can count on one raid member falling through the floor. As the only gnome in my group, that duty fell to me. Yes, you die. As many times as I have been in Ulduar's planetarium, I always assumed the floor was a mirror. I didn't realize it was clear. That's quite an impressive room."

Around Azeroth: Voodoo Cadillac

Male draenei don't get a whole lot of love in this column, at least not compared to their female counterparts. But Dravàn of Chaotic Intent on Cenarion Circle (US-A) has put up a pretty good screenshot here. The swirling orbs, the intoxicating smoke, the shadowy figure ... someone's been taking some photography lessons from trolls. Or drinking their potions. Either one works.

Around Azeroth: Wolfbot 3000

Mixing magic and technology can sometimes lead to good things. Willow from Buffy was a pretty awesome technomancer, and about 80 percent of the problems in the Harry Potter universe could be solved if everyone had smartphones and a rudimentary understanding of Google. But sometimes there are certain elements that shouldn't be combined. This spirit wolf/robot hybrid isn't going to do anything but irritate the wolf and damage the metal. (Thanks to submitter Consciousnes of eMotion on Aman'Thul [US-A] for the screenshot!)

Around Azeroth: A controlled burn

Listen, dude, I don't want any trouble. You could use a little extra cash, right? Being an orc grunt can't be the best-paying job in the universe. Just take my wallet and phone, put down the flamethrower, and we can go our separate ways. Overlord Krom'gar doesn't have to know about any of this. Come on, man, I've got a wife and two saplings! Can't you Hordies just be cool for once -- AAAGH! (Thanks to submitter Yseora of Fights Like a Girl on Blackwater Raiders [US-A] for the screenshot!)
